We had our tour of the whole island. We booked through Discover Hawaii tours and took the circle island/Pearl Harbor tour. It was a forced early start. Somehow waking up and having to not be anywhere is less exhausting than getting up and then having to be somewhere. Why is that? Our first stop of the day was Pearl Harbor. There they have the Arizona Memorial, the Bowfin submarine and the recently decommissioned USS Missouri. We only did the trip out to the Arizona Memorial. Though the other two craft can easily be seen. The memorial is much lighter than say the Vietnam Memorial. Maybe it has something to do with relevance to my age. But is also seemed that a lot of the visitors to the memorial were more amazed at the ship than what it symbolized. I guess that was bound to happen over time. There are not many survivors of the bombing left. After the memorial it was on the bus to around the island with stops at the famous or at least named beaches. Sunset beach, Hamema(?) bay, Sandy Beach, Eternity Beach to name the ones I remember. Also we stopped at the, I can't remember its name, trail between Honolulu and the east side of the island. It is a now a road but in the older days it was a foot trail. And my oh my. Based on the bus trip it must have been one long walk. Though the view was very nice from <b>…</b>
